A simple question... with surprisingly honest answers

We asked this at a recent northern marketing event—some people laughed, some gave it a deep, thoughtful pause, pen in hand. Like it was the first time they’d been asked something that really mattered.

It was meant to be a fun icebreaker.
But the answers? Ranged from hilarious to heartbreakingly real.

“Unlimited marketing budget & resources.”
“Fun ( like entertainment.... ) budget.”
“People saw my campaign without putting any ad budget.”

Why this matters

Yes, it was a fun activation. But it reminded us: marketers have stories. Opinions. War wounds. Little truths we rarely say out loud—but instantly relate to when someone else does.  

Because marketing comes with constant pressure and proving ROI, it’s not just about knowing you’re not alone. It’s about asking for help and finding partners, mentors, and allies who truly get it.  That honesty doesn’t just feel good—it leads to better work and stronger partnerships.
